 Nigerian military jet crashes in Niger A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Alpha Jet has reportedly crashed near Karabonde, Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State, on Saturday evening, December 6. Unconfirmed reports from local sources clam that the two pilots onboard survived the incident after successfully ejecting from the aircraft. A Niger state-based digital television network, Lapai TV, announced the tragic incident  in a post on its official Facebook account on Saturday evening, December 6. The post, accompanied by a one-minute video, read, “Two Nigerian Air Force Pilots Reportedly Survive Alpha Jet Crash Close to Karabonde, Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State”. It was reported that the two pilots successfully ejected before the aircraft went down. Meanwhile, the Nigerian military has yet to make any official statement concerning about the crash as of the time of filing this report.

FG Declares May 1st, Public Holiday

Federal Government has declared Monday 1st of May as Public Holiday to mark this year’s Workers Day Celebration.

Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola congratulated workers across the country on this year’s celebration.

Ogbeni Aregbesola commended workers for their hard work, diligence and sacrifice, noting that their efforts are largely responsible for the greatness of the country and the respect Nigeria now commands in the comity of nations.

According to the Minister, there is dignity in labour, we have to have dedication and commitment to the work you do, because it is vital to nation building.

He urged workers to imbibe the culture of productivity.

The Minister also urged workers to improve their craft in line with the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari’s drive to modernize the means of governance and ensure that every Nigerian receives the greatest benefits from the country.

He lauds the security services for the fight against crime nationwide and exhorts them to keep up the good work and never give up on stopping criminals whenever they rear their heads.

The Minister therefore urges Nigerians to be part of the nation’s security architecture by being vigilant and reporting suspicious individuals and activities to law enforcement agencies nearest to them.

He urges the citizens to make use of the N-Alert Application on Android and iOS.
