 Lagos Court Jails NOGASA Chair, Fatuyi Phillips 21 Years  for N43.5m Fraud    Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, November 18, 2024, convicted and sentenced Fatuyi Yemi Philips, Chairman, Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers Association of Nigeria, NOGASA, to 21 years imprisonment for N43.5m fraud.   The Lagos Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on April 5, 2022, arraigned Philips alongside his firm, Oceanview Oil and Gas Limited, on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N43, 502,000.00   Count one reads: "Fatuyi Yemi Philips and Oceanview Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, on or about the 28th day of September, 2016 at Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, with intent to defraud, obtained the aggregate sum of N43, 502,000.00 from Elochukwu Okoye and Elebana Unique Ventures Nigeria Limited on behalf of WAPCIL Nigeria Limited under the false rep

Gunmen Kill Three, Kidnapped Two In Rivers State

 Gunmen suspected to be cultists yesterday invaded Ubeta community in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State and killed three persons

The killing comes  barely seventy two hours after two Shop owners,Chimezie Nagbo and one other was kidnapped in the community on Monday.

Paramount Ruler of Ubeta community Chief Million Jonathan,  in an interview with our Correspondent confirmed the incidents.

Chief Jonathan disclosed that not all the three persons killed are cultists, explaining that the two shop owners who were kidnapped are neighbours , saying that the kidnappers are yet to make contact with the community or family members of their victims.

Chief Jonathan claimed that the incident has been happening for months,noting that many natives have deserted the community .

The Paramount Ruler stated that some of the Youth perpetrating the act sworn an oath before now but they are surprised that some of them went back to their old ways.

Chief Jonathan  maintained that the community is willing to train any of the warring Youth in skill acquisition if the person shuns criminality while calling on the Government to come to their aide.

When contacted Spokesperson Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko said no official report has been made to the Police on the incident
