 M23 says hundreds of Burundi soldiers captured in latest Congo offensive The Rwanda-backed M23 group has captured hundreds of Burundian soldiers during its latest offensive in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, a rebel official said, as clashes continued despite a warning from the Trump administration. Last week M23 entered the strategic town of Uvira near the border with Burundi, less than a week after the presidents of Congo and Rwanda met in Washington with U.S. President Donald Trump and affirmed their commitment to a peace deal known as the Washington Accords. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Saturday that Rwanda's actions in eastern Congo violated the Washington Accords and vowed to "take action to ensure promises made to the President are kept". Rwanda denies supporting M23 and has blamed Congolese and Burundian forces for the renewed fighting. Hisbah arrests 11 minors at leisure park in Kebbi

11 minors have been arrested by Hisbah operatives at a leisure park in Birnin Kebbi the Capital of Kebbi state.

Hisbah Director, Muhammad Sulyman, said the minors include both males and females, ages 14 to 15 years who were caught engaging in different anti-social behaviour allegedly inimical to their well-being and which is also abhorred in Islamic religion.

Sulyman said the minors have confessed to the offences they have committed. He added that Hisbah operatives counselled them on the dangers of what they were caught doing before releasing them to their parents with a strong warning not to indulge in such immoral acts which are capable of eroding their home training.

He also warned that Kebbi Hisbah operatives will leave no stone unturned in nipping in the bud minors and even adults who engage in unwholesome attitudes of alcoholism or prostitution.

Sulyman said; 

“Anti-social behaviour has no place in our society and we will not fold our arms to allow youth to be lost to the immorality of either drinking or prostitution.”
