 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. MAN DROWNS IN KANO WELL.(PHOTO).




Man Drowns in Kano Well 


Residents of Tukwi village Dambatta local government area, were thrown into deep mourning, following the demise of a 23-year-old man, Anas Ya'u, after drowning in a well.


The Public Relations Officer of Kano State Fire Service, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, confirmed the incident to newsmen in Kano.


He explained that, the agency received an emergency call from Sani Salisu that a man had accidentally fell into a well.


He stressed that a rescue team was quickly moblized from Danbatta local government fire station.


Saminu maintained that, reports indicate that, the victim Ya'u fell into the well while fetching water to help his friend to build a house.


"We immediately sent our rescue team to the scene at about 09:53 a.m " 


The public relations officer said, the victim was however, brought out of the well unconscious, and later confirmed dead by health officials. 


He said, the corpse has been handed over to the Ward Head of Tukwi, Alhaji Muntari Hamisu.
