 Terrorists, banditry activities in Northwest have reduced – Shehu Sani Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has disclosed a decrease in the activities of terrorists and bandits in the Northwest. Sani said the recent killings of some top terrorists’ leaders could have been responsible for the decrease. Posting on X, the former lawmaker wrote: “In the last few weeks, there is a noticeable decrease in terrorist and banditry attacks and kidnappings in the North Western parts of this country. “The elimination of some of the top terrorist leaders must have been responsible.This is commendable and should be sustained.” In the past weeks, notable bandit leaders have been killed in the North. Those eliminated include- Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu, Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by rival gang), Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children, Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi Kachalla Tsoho Lulu and Mai’Yar Gitta. Police Arrest 24-Year-Old Man For Stealing Father’s Car In Karu 


A 24-year-old man, Aondaofa Chanzer of Karshi development area of Nasarawa State has been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Police for stealing his father’s Toyota Sienna Bus. 


The state's Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, made this known in a statement on Monday. 


Nansel said the suspect sold the stolen car at the rate of ₦1.4 million to one Sunday Ola, a resident of Kurudu, FCT-Abuja who has also been arrested. 


“on 13/4/2023 at about 0700hrs, a complaint was lodged at Karshi Division that one Aondofa Chanzer ‘m’ 24yrs took away a Toyota Siena Bus with registration number Abuja ABC 714 FQ belonging to his father to unknown destination, and all efforts to reach him or recover the vehicle proved abortive.


“Upon receipt of the report, police detectives attached to Karshi Division led by the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Nnamdi David Udubor launched a discreet investigation into the case. 


“Consequently, on 22/4/2023 the culprit was trailed and arrested in his hideout at Karu village.


“When the suspect was interviewed on the whereabout of the vehicle, he confessed to have sold the vehicle to one Sunday Ola of Kurudu, FCT Abuja at the rate of (₦1,400,000) One Million and Four Hundred thousand Naira; and led the Police to FCT where the receiver of the vehicle was apprehended and the vehicle recovered,” the statement reads in part. 


Nansel added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Maiyaki Baba has ordered for the suspects to be charged to court upon conclusion of investigation.
