 Kebbi Govt Donates 10 Hilux Vehicles to Boost Security on Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway  The Kebbi State Government has handed over 10 brand-new Hilux vehicles to the Federal Ministry of Works to strengthen security for personnel working on the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway project. The vehicles were formally received by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who praised Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for the donation. Goronyo described the gesture as a clear demonstration of the state government’s commitment to protecting workers and contractors on the strategic highway corridor. He explained that the vehicles will be deployed exclusively to security operatives providing cover for construction teams along the section of the super highway passing through Kebbi State.  Student slumps, dies after collecting matriculation gown in Ilorin

A yet to be named 100-level student of Kwara College of Education, Ilorin, has slumped after collecting her matriculation gown on Wednesday preparatory to her matriculation which was held yesterday (Thursday)


The student died on Wednesday while receiving lectures ahead of her first semester examination when she breathed her last, the college’s spokesperson, Mrs Abibat Zubair said while confirming the incident.


According to Zubair, though the student was immediately rushed to the General Hospital in Ilorin, was pronounced dead on arrival.


Zubair said the lady was mourned during the matriculation on Thursday.


She added that the school’s management already paid a condolence visit to the family of the deceased.


The student has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
