 LAGOS LAW REFORM COMMISSION ENGAGES TOURISM, AGRICULTURE MINISTRIES ON SECTORAL LAW REFORMS The Lagos State Law Reform Commission recently held consultative engagements with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Systems as part of ongoing efforts to review, modernise and harmonise sectoral laws for improved governance, institutional efficiency and sustainable development in Lagos State. The engagement with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture was initiated and led by the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Mrs. Oluyemisi Ogunlola.  The delegation was received by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Princess Adebopo Oyekan-Ismaila, alongside relevant departmental and agency representatives.  Student slumps, dies after collecting matriculation gown in Ilorin

A yet to be named 100-level student of Kwara College of Education, Ilorin, has slumped after collecting her matriculation gown on Wednesday preparatory to her matriculation which was held yesterday (Thursday)


The student died on Wednesday while receiving lectures ahead of her first semester examination when she breathed her last, the college’s spokesperson, Mrs Abibat Zubair said while confirming the incident.


According to Zubair, though the student was immediately rushed to the General Hospital in Ilorin, was pronounced dead on arrival.


Zubair said the lady was mourned during the matriculation on Thursday.


She added that the school’s management already paid a condolence visit to the family of the deceased.


The student has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
