 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. THIRD MAINLAND BRIDGE: LASG TO DIVERT TRAFFIC FOR REPAIRS OF IDENTIFIED FAILED/PEELED ASPHALTIC SECTIONS  



The Lagos State Government has announced a traffic diversion plan for the rehabilitation/repair work on identified failed/peeled asphaltic sections of the Third Mainland Bridge by the Lagos State Public Works Corporation on Sunday, 2nd  April 2023, between 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. 


 A statement signed by the Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde explained that traffic will be diverted from one lane to another lane at the identified failed asphaltic sections on the Bridge. He stressed that this was expedient to solve tailbacks along the bridge at the peak periods as a result of the failed sections.  



While assuring that the State’s Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) would be available to direct traffic to ameliorate the inconveniences, Oladeinde implored Motorists to be patient as the measures taken are aimed at providing quality and safe road infrastructure for everyone.
