No good deed goes unpunished.  A Florida sea tow captain saved a man from a burning ship only to be shoved overboard and have his boat stolen. This shocking incident occurred near Marco Island on March 6th. On that date, a call went out regarding a burning boat. The captain of a sea tow boat heard the distress call and rushed to provide aid. He was able to quickly locate the burning boat and  discovered 40-year-old, Ryan Deiter, and his dog onboard the burning ship. Wasting no time, the captain of the sea tow boat was able to maneuver alongside the distressed boat and begin efforts to extricate Deiter and his dog from the doomed vessel.  Eventually, the sea tow captain was able to pull both Deiter and his dog onboard the tow boat. However, once Deiter was pulled to safety, he repaid a stranger's kindness with treachery.  Deiter shoved the captain from his own boat and fled the scene in the stolen boat, leaving the man who had just risked his own vessel and life...

6 May 2023

It has become a norm in Warri and Effurun metropolis to be on alert when boarding public tricycles as the level of crime perpetrated have been on the rise recently.

On Thursday, 4th of May, 2023 at about 5:58 pm, a victim named Miss Oke, lamented over how a tricycle driver robbed her of her belongings in Upper Erejuwa Road in Warri South Local Government Area.

The victim, who was vividly shivering while narrating her experience to our correspondent, explained how she went to visit her friend in the above-mentioned area and decided to take a tricycle back home.

Her friend, who accompanied her, was however fast to flee on sighting an occupant in the tricycle they had stopped, pointing a gun at them.

“I was in shock and couldn’t move for fear of being shot. Though they succeeded in carting away my belongings which included some money and an expensive human hair weavon that I just bought, I am grateful to God that I was not kidnapped or shot,” she stated.

She added that a few weeks ago, her cousin who sells at Igbudu Market in Warri, got kidnapped and had not returned home even after a ransom of N1.5 million was paid.

Miss Oke called on the public and security agents to be more alert, saying that the perpetrators seemed to have their way easily.
