  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report.  #ENDSARS: SENATE PASSES BILL TO COMPENSATE VICTIMS



The Senate on Wednesday passed for second reading, a bill seeking to compensate victims of the EndSARS protest.


The bill titled, A Bill for an Act to Amend the National Emergency Management Agency Act was sponsored by Senator Gershom Bassey a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, Cross River State.


Bassey, in his lead debate, said the bill seeks to provide for the establishment of the EndSARS Victims Compensation Fund.


He said that, as a result of the Endsars nationwide protests in October 2020, judicial panels of inquiry were constituted to address the demands of protesters and compensation for verified victims of the EndSARS protest.


He noted that the judicial panels of inquiry and the Senate Joint Committee on Endsars revealed the killing of protesters, and destruction of private and public properties by rampaging hoodlums, who seized and took over the protest vandalizing and looting valuable assets.
