 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. FEDERAL GOVERNMENT CONFERS CON AWARD ON GOVERNOR HOPE UZODIMMA 


His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma was yesterday bestowed with the National Honour of the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

The award which was approved by President Muhammadu Buhari is coming at the same period when the Rivers State Government conferred on the Governor its highest Award of Grand Service Star of Rivers State (GSSRS).

The news of the award was received with excitement by ndi Imo and it is in recognition of Governor Hope Uzodimma's immense contributions to national development and unity.

In a statement issued by the Imo State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hon. Declan Emelumba, the State views the award as a vindication of Governor Hope Uzodimma's tireless commitment to national cohesion and his patriotic zeal in the discharge of his duty.

Hon Emelumba said the people of the state were particularly appreciative of President Muhammadu Buhari's love for the Governor and the people of the state.
