 SUPREME COURT UPHOLDS PRESIDENT'S POWER TO DECLARE EMERGENCY RULE The  supreme court has affirmed the president's constitutional authority to declare a state of emergency in a state threatened by breakdown of law and order, including the power to temporarily suspend elected officials as an extraordinary measure to restore stability. The seven-man panel of justices of the apex court gave the order in a 6 to 1 split decision on a suit filed by Adamawa state and 10 others challenging president Bola Tinubu's march 18, 2025 declaration of emergency rule in Rivers state.  The declaration had led to the six-month suspension of the state's governor, deputy governor, and members of the house of assembly amid prolonged political crisis and security concerns. ICPC tasks Media on the fight against Corruption in Anambra State

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has called on the media, especially in Anambra State, to collaborate with it in the fight against corruption.

The Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner (RACC), Anambra State office, Mr. Godwin Oche, made the call at the May Congress of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), held in Awka recently.

Mr. Oche who was represented at the congress by a staff of the state office, Mr. Inalegwu Shaibu, maintained that public sector corruption was the bane of development in Nigeria which cannot be confronted without the media.

He acknowledged that the media, as a critical stakeholder in the society, has a major role to play in the battle against corruption as it can report and expose corrupt practices when it happened as well as educate the citizenry on or against the menace.

He said, “Public sector corruption has been one of the banes of national development. It is cheaper and more result-oriented to government to prevent corrupt practices from happening than to fight it.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.
