 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. Kano Enacts New Law To Regulate Preaching

The Kano State Government has announced the enactment of a new law to regulate religious preaching.


The Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Muhammad Garba, stated this to newsmen while explaining the key aspects of the law.


He said the decision was reached in a recent State Executive Council meeting, held at the Government House.


According to him: “The law would coordinate the mode of preaching, sermons to prevent an attack on the leadership of the opposite sect, and incitement of followers via radio, television, newspaper, or any other conventional platform.”


He said the government has also approved the establishment of a Council of Ulama through an enabling law from the Kano State House of Assembly.


Muhammad said the council will have the responsibility of supervising and regulating all religious sermons in the state.
