 JAMB Releases 2026 UTME Mop-Up Results, Set to Begin Candidate Ranking The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the results for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mop-up exercise. This crucial update marks the end of the testing phase for the current academic session, paving the way for the next stage of the tertiary admission process. According to a statement issued by JAMB's Public Communication Adviser, Fabian Benjamin, candidates who sat for the mop-up examination can now access their performance details through the board's approved result-checking channels. Candidate Ranking and Admission Letter Printing With the mop-up results now live, JAMB is transitioning immediately into the screening and placement phase. NIGERIANS TO PAY MORE FOR ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES – FG

Beer drinkers in Nigeria will be paying more for beer as federal government increases alcoholic drinks tax rate to N75 a litre according to the new fiscal policy, the new rates will take effect from June 1, 2023.


The new tax adjustments of the federal government on increase excise duties will affect alcoholic wines, spirits (whisky, brandy, vodka, and rums), beer and stout.


Reacting to the development the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) said the new policy will likely encourage illicit trade, and layoffs in the industry.


Insisting that what the industry needs from the government at this time is enabling policies and not additional tax burden.
