 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. ACTDA Intensifies Raid Against Illegal Trading, Removes Shanties In Parts Of Awka




Officials ofAwka Capital Territory Development Authority have embarked on the demolition of street shanties and illegal stores defacing the Capital City. 


The areas visited by the agency's officials were Ngozika Estate road, Club road, formerly Abakillki street, as well as Oby Okoli avenue.


Speaking during the raid, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, Mr. Ossy Onuko, disclosed that the operation will be a sustained effort in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo's agenda of making Anambra a liveable and prosperous homeland.


Mr. Onuko regretted that despite the numerous warnings by the agency and other agencies of governmemts, traders have continued to construct shanties and trade along road sides, and warned that ACTDA will continue to wage war against all manners of impunity in the capital territory.


According to the ACTDA boss, they will continue to discharge their duty without fear or favour and warned against all forms of street trading, erection of shanties and building on top of water channels.


Recall that Anambra State Government through the Ministry of Information, made a public announcement banning all forms of indiscriminate street trading and building of shanties across the state..
