 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Anambra boy to represent Nigeria at global chemistry event 


A student of Premium Breed Secondary School, Nnewichi Nnewi, Anambra State, Favour Chigozie Nwadinobi, has emerged as the overall best in Chemistry in Anambra.


As a result, he has become one of the six finalists to represent Nigeria at the 2023 International Chemistry Olympiad holding in Switzerland.


Nwadinobi competed with students from over 600 schools in Anambra to emerge as one of the finalists to represent the country.


In his speech, Nwadinobi attributed the achievement to God, his teachers and his dedication to studies.


Welcoming the team in her office at the State Secretariate Complex Awka, on Friday, the state Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, restated Nwadinobi’s feat was a demonstration of the State Government’s unwavering commitment to providing Anambra students with every opportunity to excel academically at both national and international levels.


Chuma-Udeh commended Nwadinobi and the School for their outstanding performance while emphasising the importance of continued dedication and hard work.


She enjoined them not to rest on their laurels as the state would eagerly anticipate an outstanding performance at the Olympiad.
