  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report.  Civil Servants, Military To Experience Delay In May Salaries 

Nigerian civil servants under the employment of the Federal Government will experience a delay in the payment of May 2023 salaries. 

It was gathered that this was because Ministries, Departments and Agencies were yet to get debit approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Earlier, some civil servants in separate interviews with our correspondent noted that their salaries for May 2023 have not been paid.

In a memo addressed to workers of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, the authority noted that the delay in the payment of workers was peculiar to all workers including the military and para-military.

The memo signed by its acting General Manager, Administration, Oluwasola Awe partly reads, “This is to inform all staff that Management has uploaded salaries and is awaiting debit at the Central Bank of Nigeria. However, FAAN have been advised that the payment of May 2023 salary would be delayed beyond the normal cycle due to glitches from the CBN’s portal.

“Please note that this situation is not peculiar to FAN alone as other MD’s including the Military and Paramilitary agencies are experiencing the same delay. Management appreciates your co-cooperation and understanding in this regard.”
