 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. COMMUNIQUÉ ISSUED FOLLOWING THE PDP RETREAT FOR ELECTED OFFICIALS IN BAUCHI, BAUCHI STATE


The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held a retreat on Saturday, 3rd June, 2023, in Bauchi, Bauchi State. Notable attendees included Governors and Members of the National Assembly elected under the PDP, the Acting Chairman and members of the PDP National Working Committee, members of the Board of Trustees, and other PDP Stakeholders.

*Key points of discussion and resolutions from the retreat are as follows:*

*Party Unity:* There was an emphasis on fostering unity both within the party and across the nation. The members agreed on the need for constant engagement and focus on issues concerning the welfare, stability, economy, and security of Nigeria.

*Dominant Topics:* The retreat featured discussions around good governance, democratic accountability, the party's role in opposition, the recent removal of Petroleum subsidy, prevalent poverty, the decline in the quality of life of Nigerians, ongoing post-election judicial processes, and the necessity of returning Nigeria to proper constitutional governance.

*Following these discussions, the retreat participants resolved:*

*Elected Officials:* To congratulate all elected PDP officials and urge them to deliver quality governance to the Nigerian people at all levels.

*Electoral Justice:* To support party members and candidates in various tribunals to seek redress for electoral injustices and defend victorious candidates. The judiciary was urged to respect and apply the Electoral Act impartially.
 
*Partnership in Development:* PDP legislators and governors are to collaborate as partners in development, avoiding conflict that undermines party effectiveness.

*Legislative Priorities:* Identified key issues for legislative focus include insecurity, unemployment, inflation, fuel subsidy removal, and strategies for national development.

*Interparty Alliance:* Encourage coalition-building with other opposition parties to form a minority caucus and strong alliance for effective national development.

*Party Loyalty:* Governors and legislators are to respect and contribute to the success of the party.

*Communication and Synergy:* The retreat stressed the need for improved communication and synergy between the elected NASS members and the PDP, ensuring lawmakers fulfil their responsibilities in line with party values and national interest.

*Subsidy Removal Concerns:* The retreat expressed concerns over the quick removal of the Petroleum subsidy and the lack of adequate consultation. It urged the federal government to engage in genuine dialogue with Organised Labour and other stakeholders to reach a fair and reasonable solution.

*Leadership Selection:* Support will be given to candidates that promote unity, independence, and viability of the legislature, necessary for good governance and democratic accountability.
 
*United Opposition:* A call was made for members of minority political parties in opposition in the National Assembly to unite on issues of national concern.

*Gender Inclusion:* The retreat concluded with a commitment towards prioritizing gender equality and inclusion. The party will strive to ensure equitable representation and active participation of all genders in every aspect of its operations and governance.

The retreat concluded with gratitude to the leadership of the PDP for initiating the event and to the host Governor, H.E. Bala Abdulkadar Mohammed, for providing a peaceful and conducive environment for the retreat.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.
