 LAWMA SCALES UP ENVIRONMENTAL ENFORCEMENT, SEALS DEFAULTING MARKETS, SHOPS IN IKOTUN-IGANDO … Issues Fresh Compliance Notices Along Ojuelegba-Lawanson-Itire Corridor The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has intensified its ongoing environmental compliance enforcement across Lagos, sealing markets, shopping complexes and commercial premises along the Ikotun-Igando axis, while issuing notices of intention to seal markets, shops and plazas along the Ojuelegba-Lawanson-Itire corridor. The enforcement exercise, carried out on Saturday by LAWMA's Project WISE West team, targeted commercial premises along the LASU-Igando Road corridor in Alimosho Local Government Area, following persistent indiscriminate dumping of refuse on the road median despite repeated default notices, sustained environmental advocacy and notices of intention to seal. Former Governor of Anambra State, Etiaba Visits Women Affairs Commissioner, Commends her on speedy response to Sexual and Gender Based Violence cases.

A former governor of Anambra state, Dame Virgy Etiaba has visited the Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Mrs Ify Obinabo in her office in Awka.

The visit was to commend her on her numerous achievements and speedy response to cases of sexual and gender based violence in the state.

Dame Etiaba commended her efforts in making sure that the vulnerable and less privileged children, women and girls in the state get justice whenever they are trampled upon.

The Former female governor explained that she's happy how the current government is pursing justice for everyone especially using the Child's Right Act law which she signed into Law during her administration as yardstick. 

Responding, Hon Obinabo thanked the first female governor of the state for her kind gesture and noted that she's more motivated to do more knowing that she has her backing.

The Women Affairs boss noted that it is the heart desire of Mrs Nonye Soludo to see that every child maltreated gets access to justice and have a better life in the state.

High point of the visit was the handover of a book written by the former governor to Hon Obinabo.
