 Troops Rescue 10 Kidnap Victims, Recover Weapons, Cash In Kaduna Troops of Sector 5 under Operation Peace Shield have rescued 10 kidnapped victims and recovered arms, ammunition and ransom money in a successful operation in Kaduna State. The rescue followed the abduction of several women from their farms in Ungwan Nungu, Sanga Local Government Area, on 29 November 2025. Security forces launched an immediate search-and-rescue mission to track the kidnappers. According to military authorities, the breakthrough came at about 6:40 a.m. on 5 December 2025, when troops intercepted the kidnappers during an attempted ransom collection. The armed group reportedly came under heavy fire, forcing them to flee into the surrounding forest and abandon the hostages. JAMB announces the available Admission slots for Jamb 2023

JAMB announces the available Admission slots for Jamb 2023 and the number of candidates/Applicants that applied for copious courses.

It can be recalled that the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) registered a total of One million, five hundred and ninety five thousand, seven hundred and seventy nine (1,595,779) candidates for jamb 2023.

Based on Jamb 2023, data made available showed the following;

1. MEDICINE AND SURGERY

A total of 452,443, constituting 28.35% of the total Registered candidates that applied, whereas there are only 78,578 MBBS admission slots in the whole country.

2. SOCIAL SCIENCES
A total of 239,018, constituting 14.98% of the total Registered candidates that applied, whereas, there are only 97,744 vacancies in the whole country.

3. SCIENCE RELATED COURSES.
A total of 227,453 constituting 14.25% of the total Registered candidates that applied, whereas there are 141,397 available slots in the whole country.

4. ENGINEERING COURSES.
A total of 163,123 constituting 10.22% of the total Registered candidates that applied, whereas there are 68,896 available slots.

5. ADMINISTRATION RELATED COURSES.
A total of 117,792, constituting 7.38% of the total Registered candidates that applied, whereas there are only 38,725 vacancies.

6. ARTS AND HUMANITIES
A total of 85,264 candidates constituting 5.34% of the total Registered candidates that applied, whereas there are 52,221 slots.

6. EDUCATION ANE EDUCATION RELATED COURSES
A total 52,702 candidates, constituting 3.30% of the total Registered candidates that applied, whereas there are 111,176 slots.

7. AGRICULTURE AND AGRICULTURE RELATED COURSES.
A total of 20,133 candidates constituting 1.28% of the total Registered candidates that applied, of which there are 30,536 slots.
