 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. WOMEN AFFAIRS COMMISSIONER HANDS OVER ABANDONED BABY BY TEENAGE MOTHER TO GRANDMOTHER.

Anambra State Women and Social Welfare Commissioner Honourable Ify Obinabo has handed over baby abandoned by her teenage mother to grandmother. 

The Women Affairs Commissioner who did the handing over in her office in Awka noted that the baby was brought to her by a doctor said that the young mother abandoned the child in his hospital after delivery.

Reacting, Hon Obinabo lamented on the high rate of child abandonment among teenage girls and urged them to stop. She went ahead to charge parents to equally treat their girl children with love anytime there's such incident instead of sending them out to fend for themselves.

Hon Obinabo though has reunited the newly born with her family strictly under the care of the grandmother has mandated them to always come to the ministry every two weeks to ensure that all conditions are met and strictly adhered to.
