 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. 7 DIVISION CHAPTER OF NAOWA CONDUCTED A SUCCESSFUL HANDING/TAKING OVER CEREMONY


Mrs Fibishola Abubakar, the Outgoing Chairperson of 7 Division Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA), warmly congratulated Mrs. Amina Peter Malla as the new Chairperson and expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the unending support and cooperation from the 7 Division NAOWA members and NASWA Women during her tenure at the handing and taking over ceremony at 7Division NAOWA Headquarters, Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri, Borno State. 

She affirmed that she was sure that more support would be given by the incoming Chairperson and the NAOWA President, Mrs Maria Lagbaja .

During the ceremony, Mrs Abubakar highlighted her achievements, which included the Flag off of a keke NAPEP Shuttle project with 3 brand new tricyles to ease transportation challenges faced in the Cantonment which was hoped would be consolidated upon. She also proposed and successfully initiated the land for a permanent skill acquisition centre. Plans were also being put in place to start training youths this July using available spaces not being utilized.

The NAOWA school also underwent improvements as the school bus was brought back into service, and necessary office equipments such as projector,desktop computers and AC units were acquired. A facelift was also given to the school with repairs of leaking roofs and the installation of shelves among other enhancements.

Mrs Amina Peter Mala, in her remarks, expressed profound gratitude to the outgoing Chairperson and promised to sustain the vision by continuing with all initiated projects. She pledged to uphold and advance the Tricycle project and to also start the skill acquisition programme while projecting to further upgrade the school.

The ceremony's climactic moment came with the presentation of gifts and tokens to various officials and NAOWA teachers by the outgoing Chairperson as a gesture of appreciation for their unwavering support and encouragement given to her during her tenure.
