 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. Anambra Representative Presents South-East Development Commission (SEDC) Establishment Bill 2023 At National Assembly

The Member representing Ihiala Federal Constituency and former Deputy Speaker of Anambra State House Of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Paschal A. Agbodike today 18th July, 2023 presented a Bill seeking to establish South East Development Commission.

The Bill according to him will address the issue of marginalization, underdevelopment and insecurity in the entire South East geopolitical zone. He said that the Bill will augment the comprehensive development and targeted the specific needs of the people.

He opined that SEDC when successfully created will be entrusted with planning and execution of developmental projects that will positively affect critical sectors like infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, commerce, etc. 

To us at Anambra Current News , this is a landmark move that will help the economic growth of the entire South East. It will attract investments, and create enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
