 Kebbi Govt Donates 10 Hilux Vehicles to Boost Security on Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway  The Kebbi State Government has handed over 10 brand-new Hilux vehicles to the Federal Ministry of Works to strengthen security for personnel working on the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway project. The vehicles were formally received by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who praised Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for the donation. Goronyo described the gesture as a clear demonstration of the state government’s commitment to protecting workers and contractors on the strategic highway corridor. He explained that the vehicles will be deployed exclusively to security operatives providing cover for construction teams along the section of the super highway passing through Kebbi State. The Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway is a multi-state infrastructure project aimed at improving connectivity and economic activities across northern and southern Nigeria. More...

CHILD LABOR : OBINABO HANDS CULPRIT OVER TO THE POLICE, CASE TO BE CHARGED TO COURT.

The Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Hon Ify Obinabo has handed  one Eneh Ogechukwu over to the police for using a sick child to beg for alms. 

Hon Obinabo who was visibly sad over the development despite her numerous warnings for perpetrators to desist fortwit, vowed to not let anyone who is caught again go scot free.

The Anambra State Commissioner once again warned that Anambra state is not a place where perpetrators of crime thrive especially using children for begging and stated that she will continue to get as many defaulters as possible until sanity is brought to the state.

Eneh Ogechukwu aged 27, from Udi in Enugu state was caught at Oyeolisa Ogbunike using a 10 Year old girl from Benue for begging. 

When interrogated on why she decided on such law breaking venture, Miss Eneh said she was only trying to help the 10 year old and her family solicit support from the public in order to get money for the child's medical treatment. 

She informed the Honourable Commissioner that the said girl is suffering from tumor disease hence the reason why her tummy was protruded. 

On when she started the business, she noted that she started begging with kids since December 2022, and has been able to make the sum of 100,000 thousand naira as against the sum of 400,000 thousand naira their doctor told her for the tumor surgery. 

After the questioning, she was handed over to the Ogidi police division and the case transferred to state criminal investigative department in Awka and will soon be arraigned before the Children, Sexual and Gender Based Violence Magistrate court in Awka. 

Also Hon Obinabo has taken the 10year old to the hospital for medical examination and possible treatment.
