After the distribution of the new yam tubers by the Ozo Mkpu to all the villages in the community and their kin in diaspora,Igwe Ekpe explained that the Ozo Mkpu will lead the delegation to his palace for assessment of the task given to him and then reception, before the party follows him to his residence for further reception.

This year's task to perform the " Ikpo ji' Enugwu Ukwu was given to Ozo Mkpu Chief Okekearu.

According to the traditional ruler, one week after the rituals, new yam tubers are brought to the Nkwo Enugwu Ukwu market for sales.

Igwe Ekpe affirmed that people are free to eat the new yam but committed titled chiefs in the community will not do so until the feast of " Onwa Asato'' or "" Ili ji' Enugwu Ukwu which comes up a month later in the month of August.

This year's "Ili ji'' Enugwu Ukwu according to the traditional ruler will come up on the 25th of August after two important traditional feasts in the community.(MOI)
