 Kebbi Govt Donates 10 Hilux Vehicles to Boost Security on Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway  The Kebbi State Government has handed over 10 brand-new Hilux vehicles to the Federal Ministry of Works to strengthen security for personnel working on the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway project. The vehicles were formally received by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who praised Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for the donation. Goronyo described the gesture as a clear demonstration of the state government’s commitment to protecting workers and contractors on the strategic highway corridor. He explained that the vehicles will be deployed exclusively to security operatives providing cover for construction teams along the section of the super highway passing through Kebbi State. GOVERNOR ADELEKE APPOINTS HIS DAUGHTER ADENIKE, AS COMMISSIONER IN OSUN

On Friday, July 7, the Osun State House of Assembly confirmed the list of 25 commissioner-nominees forwarded by Governor Adeleke for screening and confirmation.

During the plenary session, the Assembly Speaker, Adewale Egbedun announced the names, confirming the inclusion of the governor’s biological daughter, Adenike Adeleke, and a family member named Moruf Adeleke.

Egbedun said he received a letter from the governor for the confirmation of the nominees in line with sections 192 (2) and 196(1) of the 1999 Nigerian Constitution (amended).

The speaker said 25 names for the position of commissioners and another request for the appointment of 25 Special Advisers were received from the governor.

He said the 25 commissioner-nominees include Oladosu Babatunde, Bayo Ogunbamgbe, Sesan Oyedele, Kolapo Alimi, Soji Adeigbe, Moshood Olagunju, George Alabi and Sunday Oroniyi.

Others are Abiodun Ojo, Bashir Salami, Moruf Ayofe, Sola Ogungbile, Bunmi Jenyo, Ayo Awolowo, Wole Bada, Dipo Eluwole, Rasheed Aderibigbe, Moruf Adeleke, Adeyemo Ademola, Olabiyi Odunlade, Jola Akintola, Mayowa Adejorin, Adenike Adeleke, Tola Fasheru and Gani Ola-Oluwa.

Egbedun said the nominees are to provide 35 copies of their Curriculum Vitae (CV) to the Clerk of the House between Friday, 7 July and Tuesday, 11 July.

He thereafter constituted a seven-member ad-hoc committee, to be headed by the Deputy Speaker, Akinyode Oyewusi, to screen the nominees on Wednesday, 12 July, and report back to the House after.

The speaker added that the nominees must also declare their assets before the Code of Conduct Bureau as required by the Nigerian Constitution.
