 Romanian court hands US rapper Wiz Khalifa nine-month sentence for drug possession  An American rapper has been sentenced to nine months in prison by a Romanian court more than a year after a high-profile incident at a summer music festival along the country’s Black Sea coast. Wiz Khalifa, whose real name is Cameron Jibril Thomaz, was convicted Thursday of illegal drug possession stemming from his appearance at the Beach, Please! Festival in Costinesti in July 2024. Authorities said the artist was stopped by police after allegedly smoking cannabis on stage during his performance and was found to be carrying more than 18 grams of the drug. Prosecutors argued that part of the substance was consumed publicly while he was performing, an act that drew widespread attention at the time. The ruling overturned a lighter penalty imposed earlier this year, when a lower court issued Khalifa a criminal fine of 3,600 lei, roughly $830. Police recover two children stolen in Bayelsa and taken to Abia and Enugu states

Police Operatives of the Gender Unit, State Criminal Investigation Department, Bayelsa State Police Command have busted a child trafficking syndicate and rescued two stolen children in Enugu and Abia State. The Children namely Success 'f' four years and Prince 'm' two years were stolen by one Sunday Aniele 'm' 22 years and Chioma Obi 'f' 24 years, on 19th June 2023, at Igbogene, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

A statement released by the spokesperson of the command, SP Asinim Butswat, says on that fateful day, Chioma Obi who claimed to be a sister of Sunday Aniele took the children away under the guise of purchasing drugs for them, unknown to their parents the children were taken out of the State to an unknown destination. 

After a diligent investigation by Police Operatives, crisscrossing Delta, Anambra, Enugu, and Abia States, Sunday Aniele and Chioma Obi were arrested at Ughelli, Delta State on 7th July 2023. Subsequently, one Kingsley Chimobi 'm' 28 years, and Harriet Chukwu 'f' 36 years were arrested at Onitsha, Anambra State on 10th July, 2023.'' the statement read

Butswat added that further investigation took the Police team to Enugu, where Success 'f' 4 years was recovered on 21st July 2023, and Abangwa, Abia State where Prince 'm' 2 years was recovered on 22 July 2023. The Suspects have admitted to collecting one million six hundred thousand Naira only, for the two children.

He mentioned that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Tolani Alausa, has charged the investigating unit to conclude its investigation and Charge the suspects to court.
