 A 14-year-old Ohio girl has taken her own life, and her family believes that social media played a role. Szedi Roush sadly took her own life on Friday, June 12th. The loss of such a young and vibrant life has left the Blanchester, Ohio community shocked and filled with grief as they struggle to make sense of her passing.  Szedi was a student at Blanchester High School, where she was very active in sports and, by all outward appearances, a happy and outgoing teen. However, Szedi's family says there was a side to her kept hidden from her family. Despite being hidden from family, Szedi posted about her feelings  on TikTok. Her father says her most recent post described her feelings, and the method she intended to take her life, garnered over 40 reactions ranging from likes to hearts. COMMANDANT ALFADARAI  PLEDGES CONTINUOUS SUPPORT TO JOIN NAPTIP IN THE FIGHT AGAINST HUMAN TRAFFICKING, ATTENDS BOOK LAUNCH.



The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, Commandant of Corps Usman Ishaq Alfadarai, fdc, mnim, mpa, fisn, fcss, MFR, today, Thursday, 31st August, 2023, pledged his continuous support, to join the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons ( NAPTIP ), in the fight against human trafficking in the state. 


He made this renewed effort known, at the book launch of a literary work, titled, "We are PRICELESS," authored, by Juliana Francis, a seasoned and priceless journalist.


Alfadarai was ably represented, by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, Deputy Superintendent of Corps, Abolurin Oluwaseun, who joined, the former Inspector - General of Police and Chairman Police Service Commission, Dr Solomon Arase, Mr Femi Adesina (book reviewer), former Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to former President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, Commissioner of Police, Lagos Police Command, Deputy General of Police, Frank Mba, ably represented, CP Idowu Owohunwa, ably represented, by Superintendent of Police Matilda Ngbaronye, Divisional Police Officer, Ilupeju Division and a host of other dignitaries, who attended the book launch.


"The book, which focused on the plight of the girl child and how they were being used, for trafficking as well as rescue approach and ways, in which they can be re-integrated back to the society, couldn't have come at a better time than this, as all hands must be on deck, to eradicate this despicable act in our society," Oluwaseun Abolurin said, while he delivered a goodwill message on behalf of the NSCDC, Lagos State Commandant, Usman Alfadarai at the event. 


He further re- reiterated the efforts of the Corps, in fighting this menace and encouraged everyone present at the event to ensure the book is given the publicity it deserves, so, people can be guided and know the appropriate authorities to contact incase of such ugly occurrence amidst others.
