Lagos police launch investigation as jeweller  accuses its officers of harassment The Lagos State Police Command said it has commenced an investigation into a viral video of a jeweller accusing some policemen in the Festac area of the state of harassing him.  The command disclosed this in an X post on Saturday. The video, which circulated on X on Saturday morning, shows the businessman engaged in a struggle with some policemen. Later in the video, the businessman could be seen with a bloody face after allegedly sustaining a cut beside his right eye during the struggle with the police officers,  The jeweller later explained that the policemen from the Festac Division had stopped him for a routine search. DHQ Refutes Receiving Requests To Topple Government



Defence Headquarters has urged peddlers of falsehood to desist from such or face the law as the Military and other security agencies are on the look out for them.


Reacting to a social media report that the Armed Forces of Nigeria had received requests to effect change of leadership in the country which it termed false and disturbing, DHQ reiterated that the Armed Forces of Nigeria never received nor made such declaration at any time to anyone or any group. 


A statement signed by the Director Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, on the issue, believes the statement came from those who do not wish the nation well and tagged it the wicked imagination of a few who are not happy with the progress and well-being of the country. 


It said, the military is very comfortable with democracy and remains loyal to the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, hence is always willing and ready to defend the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.


The statement further urged the citizenry to all join hands to strengthen democracy in the country and fish out those he termed agents of doom.
