 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. FRSC IMO SACKED ONE OF IT’S OFFICERS FOR JOINING NLC PROTEST. (PHOTO).

The Imo command of the Federal Road Safety Commission has sacked one of its officers for joining members of the Nigerian Labour Congress to protest on Wednesday, August 2, while wearing the special marshals' uniform.


 


Sector Commander of the FRSC in Imo, Evaristus Ebeniro announced the official's sack, adding that he has been de-marshaled and no longer an officer of the corps. 


He revealed that the official who was summoned as a result of inactivity and lack of commitment to duties, absconded and was therefore de-marshaled in absentia in line with the rules of the corps. He was later arrested before his uniform was recovered from him. 


 


Ebeniro said;


 


“The incident prompted the Command to commence investigation to unravel the identity of the protester. 


“It is now confirmed that the protester who happened to be a unionist was once a special marshal. 


“The Command hereby makes it categorically and unequivocally clear that the protester is no longer with the Corps and that he acted alone in that show of shame “
