 2027: BENUE GOVT TELLS APPOINTEES, DECLARE NOW OR STEP ASIDE 17th December, 2025   The Benue State Government has directed all political appointees seeking to contest elective offices to formally declare their intentions and tender their resignation letters. In a statement issued from the Office of the Deputy Governor, the directive follows the surge in political activities and growing expressions of interest in elective positions across the state. According to the notice, affected appointees are required to submit written expressions of interest for their preferred offices, alongside formal resignation letters, to the Office of the Deputy Governor on or before Thursday, December 18, 2025. The submissions will be transmitted to Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormen Alia for further consideration and necessary action. The government said the move is aimed at ensuring order, transparency, and focus within the administration as it continues to advance its governance agenda....

Soludo Commends Nigerian Navy For Consistent Roles In Fight Against Criminality In Anambra



Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has commended the Nigerian Navy for their consistent roles in the ongoing operations to root out criminal elements in the state.

Governor Soludo who stated this when the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogala paid him a courtesy visit at the Governor's Lodge, Amawbia, made particular reference to their efforts in riverine areas against criminal elements operating on waterways. 

The Governor congratulated Vice Admiral Ogalla on his recent appointment by President Bola Tinubu and described it as well deserving.

Governor Soludo was particular about the formidable collaboration in existence among security agencies and called attention to the location of Anambra as a hub with links, along the river Niger.

Professor Soludo described the insecurity in the South East region as self-inflicted criminality, which has become a huge existential threat, pointing out that Vice Admiral Ogalla's strategic appointment will hopefully give voice to the region.

He revealed that the increasing theft and bunkering around the Ogwuikpele area increases the demand for Navy presence in the state, adding that the state deserves to be a liveable and prosperous homeland.

Earlier, Vice Admiral Ogalla recalled the military and policing roles of the Navy across the country and described the Niger River as a vital asset, assuring that the maritime domain in Anambra state is secured.

He assured that they will double their defensive efforts to ensure that peace returns to the region and assured of continued collaboration with sister agencies, and appreciated the state government for their support.

In attendance were Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Principal Secretary to the Governor, Barr. JPC Anaeto, Commissioner for Homeland Affairs, Mr. Chikodi Anara, Chief of Protocol and Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr. Chinedu Nwoye, and Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, AVM Ben Chiobi Rtd.
