 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. HELICOPTER CRASH: TWO CREW MEMBERS RESCUED- LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT. (PHOTO).#PRESS RELEASE

 A private training helicopter has crashed at Oba Akran Avenue, Ikeja Lagos.


According to a release by the Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Mrs. Margaret Adeseye, the accident occurred while the chopper was on a training exercise with two male crew members on board before crashing into an old communication pole opposite UBA, inward Ikeja bus stop on Oba Akran Avenue, Ikeja Lagos.


She explained that the impact of the crash resulted into an inferno and was swiftly put out and the two crew members were rescued alive with varying degree of injuries.

The Director added that the motorised escort crew to the helicopter were joined by the operatives of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service from its Headquarters in Ikeja to avert any unforeseen secondary occurrence.


While maintaining that danger has completely been averted. Adeseye, however, advised motorists to seek alternative routes as movement within the axis has been condoned off.
