 LAWMA SEALS PREMISES ON AGO PALACE WAY, ARRESTS 11 DUMPERS ON LAGOS ISLAND … Intensifies Enforcement Against Illegal Waste Disposal In renewed enforcement efforts, the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has sealed premises identified for persistent illegal waste dumping along Ago Palace Way and arrested 11 persons for illegal waste disposal in various parts of Lagos Island. The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of LAWMA, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, said that the enforcement operations underscored the Authority’s resolve to enforce existing waste management regulations and ensure compliance with approved waste disposal practices across Lagos. He explained that the Ago Palace Way operation covered plazas, hotels, lounges and warehouses along the corridor, as part of efforts to tackle activities contributing to waste build-up and environmental nuisance on road setbacks, medians and other unauthorised public spaces. IGP RECEIVES COMMANDANT NDC, PLEDGES COLLABORATION.



The Inspector-General of Police, Ag. IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun PhD, NPM, has affirmed that the NPF will continue to leverage collaboration opportunities towards fostering capacity development and promoting a culture of continuous learning for Police officers.


The IGP made this known while receiving a team from the National Defence College, led by the Commandant, Rear Admiral Olumuyiwa Morankiyo Olotu, during a courtesy visit to the Force Headquarters, Abuja, on August 15, 2023.


The Commandant expressed the desire of the College to partner the NPF on all areas of mutual benefit. He further disclosed that a total of 98 police officers have participated in training programs at the NDC so far.


The IGP while pledging continued collaboration with the NDC, encouraged the college to allocate more slots for police officers, to aid increased participation and further strengthen the relationship between the NPF and NDC.
