 Terrorists, banditry activities in Northwest have reduced – Shehu Sani Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has disclosed a decrease in the activities of terrorists and bandits in the Northwest. Sani said the recent killings of some top terrorists’ leaders could have been responsible for the decrease. Posting on X, the former lawmaker wrote: “In the last few weeks, there is a noticeable decrease in terrorist and banditry attacks and kidnappings in the North Western parts of this country. “The elimination of some of the top terrorist leaders must have been responsible.This is commendable and should be sustained.” In the past weeks, notable bandit leaders have been killed in the North. Those eliminated include- Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu, Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by rival gang), Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children, Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi Kachalla Tsoho Lulu and Mai’Yar Gitta. LASG ANNOUNCES TRAFFIC DIVERSION FOR CONSTRUCTION OF CULVERTS ACROSS LAGOS-ABEOKUTA EXPRESSWAY


As part of efforts to address the perennial flooding challenge at Ilepo bus stop in Alimosho Local Government Area, the Lagos State Government has announced a traffic diversion at the Kataguwa/Ilepo axis of the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway for the construction of culverts starting from Friday, 4th August 2023.

Consequently, the following alternative routes will be available to motorists during the construction period:

1. Traffic from Iyana Ipaja towards Abule-Egba will be diverted to the BRT Lane from Iyana Ipaja.
2. Traffic from Iyana Ipaja towards Abule Egba and traffic from Abule-Egba inward Iyana Ipaja will be diverted to service lanes. 
3. Traffic from Abule-Egba towards Iyana Ipaja will be diverted to the BRT lane from Abule-Egba.

Motorists are implored to be patient as the lane closure is part of the traffic management plan for the construction of drains across the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.
