 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. Niger's Coup Leader Apologizes to Tinubu

Niger Republic Coup Leader, General Abdourahmane Tchiani, apologises to President Tinubu for not according due respect to the first team sent by him to Niger Republic, saying they were angry about the ECOWAS ultimatum and that Niger Republic and Nigeria were not only neighbours but brothers and sisters who should resolve issues amicably

According to Sheikh Bala, General Tchiani was pained that the ECOWAS leaders did not hear their side of the matter before issuing ultimatum to them to quit office.
