 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. STATE GOVERNMENT MOURN THE LOSS OF BABY RESCUED FROM PIT TOILET AFTER THREE DAYS OF BIRTH

Anambra State Government mourns the loss of the baby rescued from pit toilet three days after birth.

The news of his de..a..th was received on  Wednesday hours after treatment commenced at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital, Amaku Awka.

All efforts to resuscitate the baby including administration of oxygen and fluids with cardiopulmonary resuscitation by the hospital proved abortive.

Reacting to the news, the women and social welfare commissioner honourable Ify Obinabo appreciated the efforts of the doctors at COOUTH Amaku Awka praying God to receive the soul of the baby.

Obinabo went on to advise young adult females to always use protection if they can't abstain from se..x to avoid unwanted pregnancy and further told them to go to their state government's women affairs ministry if they fall pregnant and doesn't want to keep the baby.

She explained that every state ministry of women affairs is saddled with the responsibility of providing shelter for anyone who wishes not to have her child after birth. 

On the fate of the 20 year old who committed the crime, Obinabo said the law will take its full course saying that she's already in Police custody.
