 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. Wake Up To Reality, Nigeria Is A Poor Country, Governor Soludo Tells Nigerians


The Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has said that it is high time Nigerians and their leaders woke up to the reality that Nigeria is a poor country.


Governor Soludo who said this on Tuesday while speaking at the 9th (7th Quadrennial) Delegates Conference of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Anambra State wing, said that Nigerians should learn to live within the country's means.


He asked Nigerian leaders to live and demonstrate to Nigerians that the country is poor, noting that the reality of the fuel subsidy removal by President Bola Tinubu’s administration affected everybody, not just civil servants.


Soludo, who commended President Tinubu for the fuel subsidy removal described the move as necessary, saying it has the potential to re-engineer the nation’s economy.


“It’s high time the country woke up to the reality that it is a poor country and began to live within its means.
