 STAEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE   PRESIDENT TINUBU: WE WILL CONTINUE TO SUSTAIN BUHARI'S LEGACIES.   President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Monday in Abuja, stated that his administration will continue to honour former President Muhammadu Buhari by sustaining his legacies of purposeful leadership, discipline, integrity, and the belief that public office is a trust, not a windfall.   President Tinubu made this commitment at the State House Conference Centre during the unveiling and public presentation of the book, *From Soldier to Statesman – The Legacy of Muhammadu Buhari*, authored by Dr Charles Omole.   He said the book offers Nigerians the opportunity to learn from President Buhari, and affirmed that the greatest honour to bestow on the late President is to sustain his legacies.   "This book reinforces the public memory. Anambra Assembly commends Gov Soludo, Education Commissioner, others for emerging champions in 2023 Malaysian debate

The Anambra State House of Assembly has commended Gov. Charles Soludo, State Commissioner for Education and other stakeholders for emerging champions in the recently conducted 2023 Malaysian International Debate Championship.

The commendation was sequel to a motion moved by the member representing Anaocha II constituency, Mr. Ejike Okechukwu and seconded by the member representing Idemili North constituency, Mr. Kingsley Udemezue during plenary at the State Legislature.

The Speaker of the House, Mr. Somtochukwu Udeze who presided over the plenary had moved for the resolution of the House while the lawmakers unanimously adopted it through voice votes.

Speaking on the motion, Mr. Okechukwu expressed happiness that the massive investment made by the governor in the education sector by employing 5,000 teachers and other infrastructural development and policy implementations were beginning to yield fruits in the state.

He noted that the Anambra Debate Team made up of Ezechukwu Emmanuel, Mbachu Promise, Okey-Okonkwo John and Okafor Obioma Blessing represented Nigeria at the Malaysian International School Debate in August this year and emerged champions.

The lawmaker who eulogized the Anambra students for their good performance outside the country expressed appreciation to the people in authority who had helped in moulding the students to achieve this feat.

"Aware that the Anambra State debate team participated and emerged champions in the National Debate Championship and thus qualified to represent Nigeria in the International Debate Championship at Malaysia.

"Also aware that the Malaysian International School Debate Education Society (MISDES) annually invites some National Debate Teams to participate in their International Debate Championship to broaden horizon of the world's young thinkers in critical thinking.

"Also, to strengthen international co-existence and mutuality, imbibe the spirit of world peace and encourage interactions through advocacy, discuss and debate," he stressed.

The lawmakers that spoke in favour of the motion are Mr. Noble Igwe representing Ogbaru I constiuency, Mr. Anayo Okpalaeke representing Aguata I constituency, Mr. Mbachu Henry representing Awka South I, Mr. Ike Onyekachukwu representing Nnewi North and Mr. Jude Umennajiego representing Onitsha South II constituency.

They noted that Gov. Soludo has tried his best to make educational sector thrive in the state, just as they commended the governor for all the wonderful works he has been doing, including the State Commissioner for Education. (Ministry of Information)
