 South Africa says US misrepresented its policies after visa curbs South Africa's foreign ministry said on Wednesday that it ‌had noted with concern U.S. visa restrictions on some people from South Africa announced by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio a day earlier. Anambra Vehicle Inspection Service Tasks Drivers to Promote Safe Driving During Ember Months

The Vehicle Inspection Service Department, Ministry of Transport Anambra State has charged drivers to be responsible and competent during this ember period.

The Head of Accident Investigation Unit, Vehicle Inspection Service Department in the Anambra State Ministry of Transport, Engr. Eze Daniel Onyeka, said this during a two day intensive safety driving training organised for Star Sunny Motors, Awka at the Vehicle Inspection Computerized Centre over the weekend.

He reinstated that the reason for such training was to sensitise the commercial drivers on safety driving ethics to reduce drastically the number of accidents occurence in the ember period.

Mr Eze pointed out that not all drivers are competent and responsible .

In his words "a competent driver is one who possesses a combination of knowledge, skills, and behaviours that demonstrate a high level of proficiency in navigating various road conditions and situations".
  
He charged drivers to develop the culture of abiding to all road safety measures and expressed concern that drivers always cut corners when obtaining driving licence.

"Most papers used by drivers are fake and Anambra State Government frowns at it. Ensure that you get your papers from the right source to avoid being confronted by our team of taskforce.

He said that the Ministry of Transport has plans to recognise Company Drivers that are competent and of good behaviour.

Lending his own voice, a senior officer from the Vehicle Inspection Nnewi Zonal Office, Engr. Finbar Arinze Nwokolo reminded the drivers of the need to also take care of the interior as well as the exterior part of their vehicles.

"Some of you go about with fire extinguishers that has expired, which is dangerous.

He emphasized the need to always keep the vehicles in order before embarking on daily trips.
