 Again, Gov Diri Tasks Traditional Rulers To Maintain Peace, Security At King Awala's Coronation  Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has again urged traditional rulers to remain focused on the maintenance of peace, security and stability in their various domains as part of their contribution towards the development of the state. Governor Diri made the call at the weekend during the coronation ceremony ofHis Royal Majesty King Victor Awala, Ebeni-Ibe the Eighth (VIII) of Atissa Kingdom in the Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, at the Bishop Dimieari Grammar School, Yenagoa, the state capital. APC IN NIGER EMBARKS ON CONSULTATIONS OVER MOKWA, IDATI, LAVUN RERUN ELECTION


Niger state chapter of the All Progressives Congress APC has said that it has embarked on series of consultations with relevant stakeholders towards winning the rerun election for twenty three poling units of Mokwa Idati and Lavun Federal constituencies that has been nullified by the tribunal.

State Chairman of APC Alh Aminu Musa Bobi stated this while addressing Newsmen in Minna on the outcome of the tribunal judgement and their level of preparedness for the rerun election.

Alh Aminu Musa Bobi explained that this is to ensure that cadididate of APC for the House of Representatives seat for Mokwa Idati and Lavun Federal constituencies and Chief Of Staff Government House Usman Abdullahi Gbatamangi win the ticket in a landslide victory.

The Niger state Chairman of APC who expressed optimism for victory when the time comes also said they will appeal the judgement of Senator Bima Enagi from zone A since according to him his case is similar to that of Usman Gbatamangi.

Alh Aminu Musa Bobi recalled that the tribunal  nullified the election of PDP candidate and ordered for rerun in twenty three poling units of Mokwa Idati and Lavun Federal constituencies as well as directed INEC to withdraw certificate of Mr Joshua Audu Gana as winner of February the twenty fifth election held this year.

On the issue of one hundred days in office of Governor Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger state he said they were only studying the problems of Nigerlites with a view to addressing them towards providing soccur and relief to its people.

Alh Aminu Musa Bobi however explained that state government has now started awarding contracts from across the twenty five Local Government Areas while Governor Mohammed Umar Bago has promised to construct and rehabilitate one thousand five hundred kilometer road in parts of the state within four years.

He commended Governor Umar Bago for also awarding contract for the construction of multi billion naira Tegina Kontagora road which he said when completed would helped to reduce cases of insecurity and boost the economy of Niger state.
