BENUE: GBOKO RESIDENTS CRY OUT OVER COLLAPSE BRIDGE, HON. ITIZA REACTS

This incident, closely mirroring the collapse at Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi due to recent downpours, has severed a critical federal government road connecting Gboko to Aliade, affecting the link between Enugu and other southern states. Impassioned youths from Mbayion took to the streets, urging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration to act swiftly as previous community repair efforts failed, disrupting commuters.

In response, Benue State Governor acted promptly, deploying Commissioner for Works and Housing,  Hon Itiza Isaac Imojime , and officials to assess the damage. Today, the Commissioner inspected the bridge's extent, assuring community leaders of immediate relief while initiating dialogues with the federal government. Simultaneously, inspections of other critical roads occurred, with a commitment to swift repair mobilization, promising commencement by tomorrow.
