 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. BENUE: GBOKO RESIDENTS CRY OUT OVER COLLAPSE BRIDGE, HON. ITIZA REACTS




Following the collapse of a vital bridge in Gboko, another unfortunate casualty of heavy rains, urgent pleas have arisen for government intervention. This incident, closely mirroring the collapse at Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi due to recent downpours, has severed a critical federal government road connecting Gboko to Aliade, affecting the link between Enugu and other southern states. Impassioned youths from Mbayion took to the streets, urging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration to act swiftly as previous community repair efforts failed, disrupting commuters.


In response, Benue State Governor acted promptly, deploying Commissioner for Works and Housing,  Hon Itiza Isaac Imojime , and officials to assess the damage. Today, the Commissioner inspected the bridge's extent, assuring community leaders of immediate relief while initiating dialogues with the federal government. Simultaneously, inspections of other critical roads occurred, with a commitment to swift repair mobilization, promising commencement by tomorrow.
