 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. Coco Gauff wins first U.S. Open trophy

Coco Gauff came from one set down on Saturday to defeat Belarussian Aryna Sabalenka to clinch her first US Open title.
The 19 year-old American defeated the 25 year-old woman who will become World No. 1 on Monday 2-6 6-3 6-2.
Gauff will be the 10th teen to win the U.S. Open women’s singles championship — and the youngest American to claim the title since Serena Williams won in 1999 at the age of 17.
With the win, Gauff also became the first American to win a U.S. Open title since Sloane Stephens in 2017.
She clinched the U.S. Open trophy in her second Grand Slam final, the first in the French Open.
Some other young female winners of the U.S. Open were:
Tracy Austin who won in 1979 at 16 years, eight months and 28 days; Martina Hingis won in 1997 at the age of 16 years, 11 months, eight days; while Monica Seles won in 1991 at 17 years, nine months and five days.
