LASG ANNOUNCES TRAFFIC DIVERSION ON THIRD MAINLAND BRIDGE FOR PALLIATIVE WORKS

The Lagos State Government, through its Public Works Corporation and in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, has announced that palliative works would be carried out on the failed sections of the Third Mainland Bridge on two consecutive Sundays, 17th and 24th September, 2023, between 7.00 am to 7.00 pm on each Sunday.

A release signed by the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, Engr. Abdulhafiz Toriola said the proposed works will be strictly executed in two phases with phase one focusing only on the most critical sections of the Iyana Oworonshoki inward Adeniji Adele/Lagos Island.

He explained that the palliative works were scheduled for Sundays to minimise inconveniences for motorists, adding that alternative routes for use during the rehabilitation have been mapped out.
According to him, Motorists from the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Alapere/Ogudu axis inwards Lagos Island will be diverted towards Gbagada-Oshodi Expressway to link Ikorodu Road/Funsho Williams Avenue to access Eko Bridge and Lagos Island.

He added that Motorists from Lagos Mainland going through Herbert Macaulay Road (Adekunle axis) inwards Lagos Island via Third Mainland Bridge will be diverted towards Muritala Mohammed Way to make use of Carter Bridge to link Lagos Island.
The Permanent Secretary, therefore, implored Motorists to be cautious and observe safety measures during the palliative works while driving on the Bridge.
