 GUNMEN KILL EX-GUMA COUNCILLOR AT HIS HOME IN BENUE  A former councillor, Hon. Paul Mbatsaver Azahaan, has been killed by gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen in Benue State, sparking fresh fears over insecurity in rural communities. Azahaan, who represented Nzorov Council Ward in Guma Local Government Area, was reportedly attacked late on Saturday night, December 13, 2025, at his residence in Tse Azahaan village, Mbagen, Nzorov Ward. According to local sources, the assailants stormed his home under the cover of darkness and launched a deadly attack, leaving the former councillor dead before fleeing the scene. The killing has plunged the community into mourning and heightened anxiety among residents, many of whom say insecurity has continued to worsen across the area. Mohbad’s father is accused because he’s poor — Seun Kuti


Afrobeats singer, Seun Kuti has berated people who blamed the father of late Nigerian singer, Mohbad for the death of his son.


Recall that Mohbad was buried the following day after passing away on September 12 in a contentious manner.


Several fans of the musician resorted to social media to criticise the singer’s father for burying him without making the appropriate preparations and conducting thorough investigations.


Seun Kuti, in an interview on The Honest Bunch podcast, asserted that the deceased father is only being harassed because he is poor.


He said, “Poverty is playing a big role in this whole Mohbad issue. People are saying Mohbad’s father killed him because he buried him early. Who will be looking at his son’s dead body for two to three days?”


Speaking in Pidgin he added “If na Otedola pikin die and he bury am overnight, wetin anybody go talk here? No be sey una go dey give am condolences visit for a house?


“Instead of us to be consoling the man, we are making him evil that can kill his son. Somebody that just lost his child. You like the boy pass am na hin dem dey bully the boy all these days and you no talk anything.”
