 Kebbi Govt Donates 10 Hilux Vehicles to Boost Security on Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway  The Kebbi State Government has handed over 10 brand-new Hilux vehicles to the Federal Ministry of Works to strengthen security for personnel working on the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway project. The vehicles were formally received by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who praised Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for the donation. Goronyo described the gesture as a clear demonstration of the state government’s commitment to protecting workers and contractors on the strategic highway corridor. He explained that the vehicles will be deployed exclusively to security operatives providing cover for construction teams along the section of the super highway passing through Kebbi State. Unidentified transformer cable thief electrocuted in Niger

An unidentified man has been electrocuted while attempting to steal transformer cables in the early hours of Friday on the premises of the Niger State Printing Press in Minna, Niger State.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the corpse of the man was found by some staff of the printing press hanging on the transformer.

The head, Legal Unit of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, Aminu Ubandoma, confirmed the incident to newsmen.

He said the company had been receiving several reports of transformers being vandalised.

Ubandoma disclosed that the company was working with security agencies, especially the police, to ensure that the rate of transformer vandalism was reduced to the barest minimum.

Also confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Niger Police Command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, said the incident occurred around the old secretariat area, on the premises of the printing press.

Abiodun said the body had been deposited at Mina General Hospital.

He revealed that effort was ongoing to locate the relative of the deceased and that the matter was under investigation in collaboration with the AEDC.
