 Gov. Ododo’s Executive Proclamation Not State of Emergency  Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo  has clarified that his recent Executive Proclamation on security protocols in the state is not a declaration of a state of emergency but a set of necessary measures to enhance the security architecture to crackdown on criminals in all parts of the state.  This was contained in a statement by the Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Hon. Ismaila Isah, explaining that the proclamation is a lawful constitutional measure aimed at strengthening security coordination and protecting lives and property across Kogi State.  Gov. Ododo emphasized that it is within his powers as the Chief Security Officer of the state under Section 14 subsection 2(b) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended). UNIMAID: Zulum orders reconstruction of Ummah Mosque


Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has approved the reconstruction of a dilapidated and uncompleted Mosque popularly called ‘Ummah’ at the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID).


Zulum announced the approval on Sunday when he paid a visit to the site of the project which was started but could not be completed.


The governor ordered that rehabilitation work should start 48 hours after his visit.


“Many people talked to me about this mosque, I can see some work has started, I am here to see how we can come in to complete the construction of this project. Insha Allah, we will start the rehabilitation within 48 hours”, the governor said. 


Zulum, since 2019, offered support to the University of Maiduguri which included the construction of houses for junior, intermediate and senior staff to address housing deficit.


Governor Zulum in addition has been providing interventions in facilities that helped the university meet accreditation requirements.
