 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. Gombe State Government Mourns the Untimely Demise of Permanent Secretary Poloma

In a tragic turn of events, Barrister Poloma, the Permanent Secretary of the Gombe State Government House, passed away at the age of 60, just one week before his scheduled retirement. Poloma's death has left the government and the community grieving the loss of a dedicated and experienced administrator.

Governor Muhammadu Yahaya expressed deep sorrow and extended his condolences to Poloma's family and loved ones. In a press statement signed by the Director-General of Press Affairs, Ismaila Misilli, Governor Yahaya described Poloma as a seasoned and invaluable member of the civil service.

Barrister Poloma, who had served as the Permanent Secretary for three different administrations in Gombe State, was set to retire after a long and illustrious career. Unfortunately, he succumbed to a brief illness in the early hours of Sunday, October 8, 2023, as confirmed by his family.

The statement highlighted Poloma's significant contributions to the development of both the civil service and the state as a whole. The entire Gombe State Government mourns his loss and acknowledges the immense impact he had on governance.

While everyone had been eagerly anticipating Poloma's well-deserved retirement celebration, fate had other plans. However, his legacy as an exceptional public servant and his dedication to the progress of Gombe State will endure and be cherished.
