 Terrorists, banditry activities in Northwest have reduced – Shehu Sani Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has disclosed a decrease in the activities of terrorists and bandits in the Northwest. Sani said the recent killings of some top terrorists’ leaders could have been responsible for the decrease. Posting on X, the former lawmaker wrote: “In the last few weeks, there is a noticeable decrease in terrorist and banditry attacks and kidnappings in the North Western parts of this country. “The elimination of some of the top terrorist leaders must have been responsible.This is commendable and should be sustained.” In the past weeks, notable bandit leaders have been killed in the North. Those eliminated include- Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu, Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by rival gang), Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children, Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi Kachalla Tsoho Lulu and Mai’Yar Gitta. KNSG Bans Queen Primer Other Text Books For Improper Content


The Kano State Government has banned the use of some textbooks across Nursery, Primary, and secondary schools in the state, due to harmful and improper explicit contents.


This was contained in a statement signed by  the director of planning Research and Statistics office of the Special Adviser on Private and Voluntary Institutions in Kano,  Hamisu Ibrahim and made available to pressmen in Kano


According to him,the under-listed textbooks are prohibited for  use in all Nursery Primary and Secondary Schools across  the state.


“The Kano state government wishes to notify operators of both private and voluntary schools in the state that the under-listed textbooks are prohibited for instruction, use in all Nursery Primary and Secondary Schools in the state, due to observed inclusion of inappropriate and sexually explicit content that is harmful to the morale of young students"


The books include The Queen Premier(All Editions) a royal school series published by Nelson Publisher company.


Others are, Basic Science for Junior Secondary School by Razat Publishers 2018 edition for Jss3.


Active Basic Science 2014 edition by Tola Anjorin, Okochuku Okolo, Philias Yara, Bamidele Mutiu, Farima Kaki, Lydia Gbagu.


Basic Science and technology for junior secondary school 1, 2, and 3 by W.K Hamzat, S. Bakare.


New concept English for junior secondary school for jss2(revised edition 2018) by J Eyisi, A Adekunle, T Adepolu, F Ademola Adeoye, Q Adams, and J Eto.


Basic Social Studies for Primary School by J Obebe, D M Muhammad A N Nwosu, J A Adeyanju, and H Gabin


 The statement pointed out that, it is the government’s responsibility to provide quality education while nurturing various characteristics among students.
