More than 100,000 children have been displaced by the latest escalation in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, UNICEF said on Sunday, warning the numbers are expected to rise as violence spreads. Since Dec. 1, intense fighting has uprooted more than 500,000 people, with children accounting for over 100,000 of those displaced in South Kivu alone, the UN agency said in a statement released Sunday. It said since Dec. 2, hundreds have been killed in the fighting, and children have been among the victims, with four students killed, six injured, and at least seven schools attacked or damaged. The rapid escalation has forced hundreds of thousands of children and families to flee within Congo and into neighboring Burundi and Rwanda, it added. Many people fleeing the violence have crossed into Burundi, with over 50,000 new arrivals reported between Dec. 6 and 11, nearly half of them children, UNICEF said, adding that the numbers are expected to rise as more displaced are identified. “Chi...

My manager and lawyer are plotting to ‘kidnap’ me – Davido

Davido, following his heated online clash with fellow artist Dammy Krane, stirred up quite a commotion on the internet by whimsically reaching out to his fan base for help via social media.

The singer, in his latest post, cheekily claimed that his lawyer, and manager are planning to “abduct” him.

Davido, the prominent Afrobeats sensation, professionally identified as David Adeleke, stirred up a buzz with his recent post as he humorously implored for assistance, claiming that his own team members attempted to “kidnap” him.

The singer’s playful SOS call followed a fiery face-off with Dammy Krane, with accusations flying like unpaid debts, claims of ingratitude, and a storm of other allegations in the mix.

News Dorect recall reporting that Dammy Krane claimed Davido still owes him for his contribution on the track they did together.

Both parties shared different secrets online, revealing how they both allegedly took advantage of each other.

In a sizzling new online tweet, Davido spilled the beans with a pinch of humor, playfully suggesting that his manager Asa Asika and lawyer Bobo Fred Ajudua are hankering to “kidnap” him.

He wrote:

“Asa n Bobo wan kidnap me ooo help 😂.”

The singer is fully aware that his trusted team members are on a mission to retrieve his phone used in tweeting his grudges on X platform, especially after all the online controversy ignited by his clash with Dammy Krane.

Davido and Dammy Krane have been at loggerheads on the social networking site, X (Twitter), where the former accused Davido of failure to pay royalties on a song ‘Pere’ they recorded in 2017.

Dammy Krane called out the ‘Unavailable Crooner’ over failure to pay for the song they recorded and accused the singer of taking a singer, Idowest, from his label.

In his defense, Davido took to Twitter on Friday and stated that the ‘Amin Crooner’ is yet to pay him for the three songs they recorded together and recalled how he housed the singer.
