 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  Nov Polls: INEC Accredits 94 Media Organisations


The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has accredited 94 media organizations for the November 11 governorship elections in Kogi, Imo, and Bayelsa States.


INEC Chairman, Prof Mahmoud Yakubu who stated this in Abuja on Thursday during a meeting with Media Executives, explained that in the next few days, the accredited media organisations would be notified of the date for the collection of the identity cards for their official


Professor Yakubu told the Media Executives that the mock accreditation involving actual voters in designated polling units in the three states conducted by the Commission was successful.


‘’We tested the efficacy of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) for both biometric authentication of voters and the upload of result to the INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV).


We have received no adverse report so far and we look forward to improved performance of the BVAS in voter accreditation and result upload in the forthcoming Governorship elections and beyond,’’ he said.


Professor Yakubu also said the Commission would meet with the security agencies for the safety of journalists, technical staff and protection of the equipment being deployed by the media organizations on Election Day and to grant the media unimpeded access to polling and collation locations.


The INEC Chairman urged members of the media to strictly adhere to the ethics of their profession and avoid fake news.
