  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report.  Nov Polls: INEC Accredits 94 Media Organisations


The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has accredited 94 media organizations for the November 11 governorship elections in Kogi, Imo, and Bayelsa States.


INEC Chairman, Prof Mahmoud Yakubu who stated this in Abuja on Thursday during a meeting with Media Executives, explained that in the next few days, the accredited media organisations would be notified of the date for the collection of the identity cards for their official


Professor Yakubu told the Media Executives that the mock accreditation involving actual voters in designated polling units in the three states conducted by the Commission was successful.


‘’We tested the efficacy of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) for both biometric authentication of voters and the upload of result to the INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV).


We have received no adverse report so far and we look forward to improved performance of the BVAS in voter accreditation and result upload in the forthcoming Governorship elections and beyond,’’ he said.


Professor Yakubu also said the Commission would meet with the security agencies for the safety of journalists, technical staff and protection of the equipment being deployed by the media organizations on Election Day and to grant the media unimpeded access to polling and collation locations.


The INEC Chairman urged members of the media to strictly adhere to the ethics of their profession and avoid fake news.
