 Kaduna Targets ₦120bn IGR In 2026 — KADIRS Chairman   Kaduna State has set an Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) target of ₦120 billion for the 2026 fiscal year, with the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) expected to play a central role in achieving the target. The Executive Chairman of KADIRS, Jerry Adams, FCTI, FNIM, FCE, CNA, disclosed this during the Service’s Annual Performance Review, Work Plan, and Strategic Retreat.  He explained that although the state government approved ₦74 billion as KADIRS’ official revenue target, the Service raised its internal benchmark to ₦80.09 billion to motivate staff to exceed expectations. He further stated that the proposed 2026 budget by the Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission stands at ₦117.28 billion, with KADIRS expected to generate ₦74.28 billion, while Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) are projected to generate ₦43.24 billion. Obi Celebrates Appointment Of Nigerian As Health Minister In Canada

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 presidential election, Mr Peter Obi, has felicitated with a Nigerian, Uzoma Asagwara, on her swearing-in as a Health minister in the province of Manitoba, Canada.

By her appointment, Asagwara also doubles as the Deputy Premier of the province.

Obi, in a series of tweets shared on Sunday via his profile on X (formerly Twitter), attributed Asagwara’s success to hard work and dedication to duty.

“The swearing-in of a young Nigerian, Uzoma Chioma Asagwara, as the new Health Minister and Deputy Premier of the Province of Manitoba in Canada, was heartwarming. The uplifting report again, buttresses the resourceful spirit of Nigerians,” he tweeted.

“According to the report, Asagwara was the first black individual to achieve this position in Manitoba. I sincerely congratulate her for achieving this feat, which can only be earned through hard work, commitment and dedication to duty.

“She serves as a lesson in hard work to millions of Nigerian youth. I wish her success in her new position and encourage her to continue to pursue societal progress both in Canada and our country, Nigeria,” he said.

According to the former Anambra governor, Asagwara is a model of hard work to the Nigerian youths. He also reaffirmed his belief in the “greatness and infinite resourcefulness of the Nigerian people.”
